5/10 Tibetan Lama at Blount County Library: Blount County Public Library presents a rare opportunity to encounter one of few remaining Tibetan Lama's whose story originates in Tibet prior to the occupation by communist forces. Now 74 years old, Lama Norlha Rinpoche is visiting the Knoxville area and will present a public talk about his life growing up in Tibet, how he survived and escaped from prison camp, fled to Nepal and India to start a new life, and became one of the first Tibetans to immigrate to the West. Free. 7pm.

5/12 Maryville Farmer's Market: This week's festivities include music by the infamous Brad Hitch. He describes the MFM as follows: "Ladies and gentlefellers; and also to those gals who are somewhat less than lady-like: I'm awful tickled to inform you that me and Dave will be playing tunes this Saturday morning 9-11 am at the Maryville Farmer's Market – downtown Murvul. So when Saturday a.m. rolls around, forgo sending little Billy off to the Little League park….in hopes he will grow to become a ball player…thus sentencing him to a life of Skoal-dipping and adjusting his man-parts in public. Nope, haul little Billy's hiney to the Farmer's Market and learn him right that shopping for groceries sucks a lot less when you're outdoors, buying the good stuff while ol Hitchy's a'pickin his banjer in the background."

5/12 Lowe's Build and Grow Clinic: Build and Grow Clinics are free to the public and occur every other Saturday at 10am. Below is a list of upcoming clinics.
